The Future of the AI Vans Mod

The future of the AI-Van skins is in YOUR hands.

The good news is that each SCS made country on the map, now has at least one skin in the works. But I can’t continue to build on the AI van skins on my own. I am an English man, I know what companies have vans in the UK, but I have never been to mainland Europe, I have never seen what companies have vans with liveries to be skinned, the best I can do for other countries is find government run mail companies because we all know mail delivery is an important part of all developed countries.

If you want to see more vans for other countries, show me what you have. Takes pics with your phones when out and about, give me google street view links to company depots that have something in the yard, even a website link to a company if you know they have vans. Help me to give you a richer experience for your area of the map.

Painted AI Vans

UPDATE 15:15 UTC:  Updated to disable them in countries outside of the UK. 

These skin will only spawn within the UK. This is intentional as they are mostly UK companies. If any one wants a version for other countries in the game, simply send me an email with the country, and companies (with images) and I will look to add them in the future.

Skins include, Parcel Force, UPS, DHL, Hermes, TNT, Stobart Rail, Stobart Fleet Maintenance, Yodel, APC, DPD, Royal Mail, UKMail, City Link, A.W. Jenkinson Fleet Maintenance, A.W. Jenkinson, Arriva, Virgin Media (3 variants), Sky (2 Variants), Fed-Ex, and ScotRail. There may also be a dirty white van with things written on it lurking out there some where.

Please note: The painted transit model comes from the Jazzycat pack. This mod is compatible with his.

Stobart Volvo & Greencarrier Volvo

For those who haven’t noticed, the Stobart Green & Stobart White company replacement mods have been removed. Since the Big Stobart Mod is far better I see no reason to keep the other two around.

Two requests today.

First first is a Green Carrier skin for the 2012 Volvo FH Globetrotter XL, which can be found on the Truck Skins page.

The second is a Stobart (April) skin for Ohaha’s Volvo FH 2013 Globetrotter, which can be found on the Stobart Truck Skins page. (file contains “Correct parts” list.)

Please note: Because it requires Ohaha’s mod, the Stobart skin is only available as a solo mod and will NOT be part of the truck pack.

Double Deck Trailer Update

After a few complaints that the Double Deck trailer by Kevin Devine (imported to ETS2 by DJaz) was no longer working I decided to update the model and make it standalone.

The download can be found on the Other Mods page, full credits can be found in the read me file.

Permission was given by Kevin to release this mod.

The mod has been left open to allow you to add/change/remove the cargo and to allow you to use your own skins.

Scandinavia DLC: Coming next Month?

We all know (or should know) that SCS do not give dates for potential releases until they are sure it will be ready. Some people have always been caught out by the release dates shown on sites like Amazon. These pre-order release dates are nothing more than place holders. They do not get their dates from SCS or Excalibur Publishing.

So why then am I so sure that the DLC is going to be coming as soon as March?

Most people, myself included, have always  presumed the DLC would be coming around the 1st quarter of 2015 based on the time it took them to do other things.

For those that don’t keep track of Excalibur Publishing, the release date for the Scandinavian DLC has also been changed from March 6th to March 19th.

Normally such a thing would go ignored because dates are usually place holders since SCS tend not to release dates until they know for sure. So why is this change so interesting? It is the shortest change so far, all the other dates have obviously been by months, but a 2 week change?

It’s highly likely that SCS are now at a point that they have given their publishers an ETA for release. While they will not say anything publicly (so as not to get a backlash if they have to delay it) I fully believe the date to be accurate.

SCS have suggested how close they are via their recent blog post, so I think it’s safe to say that the date is the real planned release date. There’s always a risk things will go wrong, but we also know that it is in beta testing now.

Updates Completed & Buckfast

All trailer mods that I need to update have been updated. Please note the Buckfast trailer had an issue.

For those wondering, the Marshalls & UKPSG trailers will show at the top of the Trailer Browser due to the folder name having capital letters.

The Monster Trailer has been removed. I was never really happy with it and have decided to remove it from the page.

The original buckfast update had a spelling error in the chassis file which prevented it from spawning with cargo, even though it was still visible in the trailer browser which lead me to believe it was working. A fixed version was uploaded earlier.

The Bartrums pack has been moved to the combos page.

The UKPSG Mod had an error in the yodel AI trailer file. The error will cause the game to crash if the game attempts to load the yodel trailer in traffic. Updating to the latest versions is necessary.

 

The HSS Hire company now includes a previously unreleased skin for the middle cab sized Mercedes. Although it is technically a combo pack, because it is a company replacement for Sanbuilders, I have left it on the company/trailers page.
