New AI Combos

Now that the AI driver nodes are fixed, and based models of trucks made, it opens the door for some (mostly) quick and easy new AI trucks.

So with that in mind there are some new AI combos added to existing mods.

Grampian has both Scania and Volvo 2012 (with Ohaha painted grill) AI added.
Macritchie has the Volvo 2009 (with Ohaha painted grill) AI added.
Shipley has DAF AI added.
Thompsons Plant Hire has Scania AI added.
Williams Transport has DAF E6 (with Ohaha grill) AI added.
Wilson McIntyre has been removed from the Company/Trailers mod page, has been given a stand alone trailer (with proper skin rather than the one sided paint edit for SCS models) merged with the paintjob, and given AI.

Company Replacement Mods

For a while now I have been considering deleting all my company replacement mods and changing all the company skins to stand alone trailers.

What this would mean is that companies like Woodside, McCarthy, McBurney, PC Hamilton would all change into combo packs and may, in time, be given AI combos also.

It would also mean that you could have the trailers, while using different company names/logos without having to worry about load order of mods.

Things that would change if I remove replacement mods:

Name in the job list, on the map, and in the route navigator. Both text and icons.
Billboard names/logos.
The SCS default trailers would return to SCS companies, or other companies if you use multiple company replacement mods.

Things that may improve with no company replacements:
All company replacements that also have company truck skins will turn into combo packs. Meaning you have less mods to keep track of.
Combos may also get AI traffic combos as well.

IF I remove the company replacements, I may consider making a combo pack of supermarket brands for Sellplan and Kaarfor outlets. For example a trailer pack that includes Tesco, Morrisons, and Aldi for Sellplan, and Asda, Lidl, and Sainsbury’s for Kaarfor + AI combo traffic.

Bet let’s see what the community would prefer.

Arclid Crash Fix

Normally I don’t make posts about silent updates (updates that occur within 2 minutes of a blog post) because it is rare that people will grab the mod before the update completes.

However, I have realised that last nights Arclid v4.0.1 update did NOT update on Google Drive – Google Drive failed to update it and I wasn’t aware, so the fix didn’t actually go live until this morning when I booted up the PC.

So for those of you using Arclid v4 please make sure you have v4.0.1 or your game will crash when it attempts to load the AI vehicle.

Next Batch of Updates

The next batch of updates have been released.

Arclid – now has a Volvo AI traffic combo.
Buckfast – Fixed AI driver position and updated model.
Essers – AI Driver position.
SBS Movers – Added AI combo to public release.
Wyvern Cargo -AI driver position
Yorkshire Tea – AI Driver position and switch to SCS model.
YPO – Added trailer and AI combo (moved to combos page)


The Big Malcolm Mod also hits version 4. This release was intended some time ago, but kept being put on hold. I have finally released version 4 with full AI combos. Tag lift Scania for walking floor trailer, midlift for all other trailers. Volvo pulls only the curtain and fridge and a MAN for the tanker.

First up the following mods have been updated for the AI driver placement.

The Marshalls PLC mod has also been updated for the flare placement of the beacon. Please note that the issue is an SCS one where the flare will not appear in the correct position as stated by the model. I have done the best I can to get it as close to the beacon as possible. Hopefully one day SCS will address the issue.

By request Blair International has also been added and can be found on the Combos page. The mod includes two trailers (red curtain and white fridge) as well as a DAF XF 105 skin (more will come at a later date) the combo will also appear in AI traffic.


Scania Intake Mod updated

So I have finally updated the new Scania Intake mod. As some of you may have noticed, it was a bit of a rush job to get it out for people who updated from 1.23x to 1.24x so some of the grills were not aligned properly.

All grills are now aligned correctly. The lights have changed from the low quality flat leds used on sunshields, to one of the accessory lights giving it a much better (and 3d) look. I have also included a fourth variant of the grill that has custom light nodes allowing you to add your own lights, where ever you want them.

The mod as standard includes the SCS smalllights, but if you have light packs and know how to edit them to add the suitable_for[]: “f_intake_cab” line you can add more of your own.
