BSM Update & New Combo

First up, the first entry for the May Day Special Request event has been picked, completed and uploaded. Congrats to Michael King for his entry being chosen.

The Thompsons Plant Hire combo can be found on the combo page. Remember RJL’s Scania modifications mod is required for the truck skin.

The Trailer Training mod has also been updated to try and lower the frequency of the trailer spawning.

There has also been an update for the BSM. I have been editing the TZ Rommi Bodex Walking Floor to make it appear more like a 110 Stas, the model Stobart use. To this end I have removed the large Bodex mud flap from the rear. Flipped the UVmap of the rear box (right handside) so that the Stas logo appears the right way around. I have remapped some pieces to allow individual skinning and I have also removed the side doors for the Bodex, to get it the appearance of solid sides as the Stas model has. I may make a few more tweaks at a later date, but for now I am happy enough to release it for the pack.

Grampian Combo and Stobart Updates

First up we have, by request, Tatiana H030 Stobart Energy livery for Scania Topline. The skin is available on both Streamline and R, the grill is also painted for those using the V4 mod for Scania R.

Secondly we have a new combo; Grampian Continental with a trailer and Scania R Topline skin.

The jumbo trailer has two skins, and pulls Toiletries, and Office Supplies.

I have also included a Ohaha Volvo 2013 skin for those that use it.

Big Stobart Mod Version 1.2

Bug Fix Reminder

For those that don’t check the blog, a bug fix was issued for the AI vans mod a couple of days ago to fix the Belgium skins spawning everywhere all the time.

General News

First up, you may have noticed a lack of trailer related updates lately. This is due to the fact I have been given some information relating to beta builds of the game. It has been suggested that there maybe another change in the handling of cargo files in relation to the DLC.

I am hoping the person who told me this is working on outdated info and they are actually meaning the cargo change that happened in the 1.14 update. But if there is indeed another change to cargo coming that would require all standalone trailers and cargo mods to be updated, it is going to mean a lot of work on my part to get them updated again. So as you might imagine, I am not going to be releasing any new Combo packs or new trailer with cargo releases until after the DLC launches.

Important Fix & BSM Update

First of all, if you are using any of my truck skins for the new (2012) Volvo’s, please update them as soon as possible.

Yesterday (Sunday) I found a large error in the def file of the Volvo’s, as of 12:40pm (UTC) all Volvo’s were fixed and updated. Even though the skins appear to work with the error, it is important to update them so that no issues occur later on. This issue CAN cause problems with skins on other trucks if you do not update.

And finally, since the poll was completely one-sided in favour of the new Biomass skin, I have closed the poll and updated the mod to version 0.3.2.

The only change is the new skin.

The Big Stobart Mod – Versions 0.2.2 & 0.3

So I recently learned how to make the truck skinning templates using Blender; which lead me to thinking if I can do it for trucks, why not trailers? As I am sure any skinner out there is aware, the game uses an individual file for companies (as default) for all trailer types. So Krone/Schmidt/Tanker all use one skin file, which is great until you realise the back of them are located slightly differently (do to shape) meaning it is VERY BLOODY HARD to line everything up correctly for all types.

So today I decided I would try and make my own templates and succeeded in my goal. While this is be somewhat useful for general company skin mods, it is invaluable for the Big Stobart Mod. Which brings us into the first point of this post, the BSM has a minor update from v0.2 to v0.2.2 – This is a small skin update for the tanker to relocate the S logo on the back to the centre. If you are already using the v0.2 mod you can safely install this update without the game cancelling your current job.

BSM v0.3 

My first plan of action for the 0.3 update will be to change the Biomass & Green (solid) trailers. Currently I only have the models for the two Krone trailers (curtain/Profi-liner and Fridge/cool-liner) as a result they are both using the fridge trailer, what I want to do is update them to a Schmidt Universal trailer. I have also considered try a little bit of modelling to make the Biomass have the green curtain top, but since my ability to 3d model is weak at best that may not happen.

I am also considering include one of the Rugby League trailer skin to add a little variety to the fridge units on the road. This would most likely be the group trailer rather than one of the individual team ones.

I may also consider adding new cargo, so if there is anything specific people would like to see, by all means leave a comment.

So we have come down to two trailers. I honestly can’t decide which would be the better option so I am going to open it to voting. The current trailer used for the Biomass is the regular fridge trailer. However I am planning on changing this to either:

The Curtain-sider/profi-liner.
