Big Stobart Mod 6.1.22 – Bug Fix

Today sees the release of v6.1.22, unfortunately the previous release had an issue with the Scania transporter collision which would cause hilarity to ensue when the truck spawns, you know if you find AI trucks doing wheelies and jack-knifing to be hilarious.

I wasn’t intending to release another BSM until 6.2 with a full fleet of Volvo 2009 AIs included. However the Scania issue forced me to push out a fix. The good news is that the update also comes with an extra couple of goodies.

Matilda H6668 joins the pack purely to pull the Steady Eddie trailer and Debby H4700 for the Malcolm Charity trailer.

BSM v6.1.15

Once again the BSM sees a new update. The majority of updates are wheel base changes, now I have figure out what to put in the def files and models to make the chassis’s have mid and taglifts all models have been updated accordingly.

The update also brings an Elite Dreams Scania, Allports Scania, Automotive EU, and Automotive ESL. As always the change log page has a full list of updates.

Wyvern Cargo, Yorkshire Tea, and American Sweets

Three updates today. The Yorkshire Tea combo has had an update to stop AI trucks from being able to park.

American Sweets combo now includes AI truck traffic.

And a new addition to the site; Wyvern Cargo, includes one trailer with two cargo options and two Scania R topline skins both of which are in the AI as well.

As always game versions 1.21.x or above is required for packs with AI truck/trailer combos.

BSM Update 6.1

The Big Stobart Mod v6.1 has been released. You may notice the switch from 6.0.6 > 6.1 basically it means the BSM with AI is in a release stage that I am happy with. As a result there will be no more updates any time soon. There are still things I plan to add to it and there are things I will change in due course. But for now I am happy with its progress and status and will be looking towards some other mods.

Updates included in this version are:

ESL Volvos, Biomass/Energy Volvos, DAF Autologics, and Scania Toplines for the M-Sport. You may also notice I have changed the M-Sport trailer slightly when you see it in game. 😉

The next version of the BSM has now been released and includes the following updates.

Mercedes MP4: Doorhandles added. Apparently trapping your drivers in trucks with a bucket to pee in is illegal. Who knew. 😉
Highline (w/o windkit) – 3 ESL skins with ADR board for the Tankers.
MAN – Three ESL skins with ADR board for the tankers.
Mercedes 2009 – Three Tesco skins, one with the old Tesco crest two without.
Scania T – Old ESL Livery for the old ESL trailer.

Several Updates

First of all I have updated the Painted AI Truck Traffic tutorial for the interior model. It was brought to my attention that SCS have now made exterior interior models for the dash, as a result the original tutorial for adding interiors was obsolete. The new method is far, far easier.

I have also added a video to show how to decimate the mod for the LOD version to help performance for lower end systems.

I will also be updating the adding/removing looks tutorial videos.

I have also made a skinable version of my Stobart AI Truck for Mercedes MP4. The model is 4×2 chassis, with side skirt, plastic side mirrors, and default sunshield. There a six blank skins for it. The model has a unique folder structure so should work with ALL AI traffic mods. I haven’t included a template in the file because it uses the same template as the SCS Gigaspace and most of you interested in this mod will likely have all truck templates any way. The mod is completely open so you can add/remove looks as required in blender.

And finally the Big Stobart Mod has now been updated to include the first batch of painted Stobart AI trucks. See the bottom of the BSM page for pictures or the change log for a list of changes.

More AI traffic will be added to the pack in future iterations.

MP4 AI traffic.

The reason I learnt how to make my own AI truck traffic was partly because Jazzycat’s MP4 was not made to the same spec as SCS (different UVmap) that and he has started to lock his mods, and I want to respect that by not using any of his own new work.

This frustrated me after waiting so long for him to add the damn thing. But I understand his reasons, I lock my own work after all.

Along with that I obviously wanted variants he hadn’t made. So I started to deconstruct his older works to get an idea of what he had done. I did try this a long time ago and failed miserably. But in the past year my knowledge of blender has grown, as a result I now ‘see’ things differently.

My first test was to cannibalise his Scania ai truck and add the painted front grill. This was successful and it’s been part of my private AI pack for about 8 months. This past week or two I progressed to adding the windkit from the Streamline.

Then I tried to make a working version of the MP4, using part of Jazzycat’s pack and the SCS model. To start with I thought I had done it, but I ran into issues. Lots of issues; which I why I stopped talking about it on FB, so I changed tack. Instead of trying to edit JC’s work I decided to try making my own from scratch.

And with great success the Actros 2009 B Cab came forth.

After successfully doing this, I proceeded to make a tutorial (all by memory I might add, no scripts, no notes) because I have always wanted to help people to do it for themselves, as much as I like making skins and helping people get what they want, I really want to feel like I help them achieve something by doing it themselves, the proper way without ETS2Studio. 😉

Today I decided to have a crack at making the Mp4 again.

I feel proud that I managed to achieve it, and unlike Jazzycat’s model, this sucker uses the default SCS UVmap. Now obviously I need to attach sunshields, sideskirts, and the interior (which will be cannibalised from the 2009 Actros since SCS hasn’t made AI MP4 traffic) and it also needs a LOD model. But hey, this is a near complete truck, and it’s working without any errors.

BSM & Stobart AI Update

The Big Stobart Mod has been updated to fix a red texture issues with the TZ Jumbo trailer (I copied the wheels rather than putting them through blender and forget to add the mat files
The Stobart AI pack has been updated with a Scania Highline (biomass) and Mercedes 2009 Cab B (Tesco). There’s 6 biomass skins and 3 tesco skins.

This mod REQUIRES the Big Stobart Mod.

So I have decided to release my Stobart AI traffic mod, it currently contains Autologic, Automotive, and ESL transporter skins as well as ESL skins for tankers and general trailers.

You can find the Stobart AI page as a child of the Big Stobart Mod page at the top.

Please note that this mod is considered to be in an alpha stage, it is very much unfinished. While I will always endeavour to make sure there is nothing game crashing, it can be hard to spot issues as it’s a matter of waiting for things to spawn in traffic.

I will slowly add more truck skins to the AI, but please understand I am limited to what vehicles can be added as I cannot make models myself. All truck ai models come from Jazzycat’s AI traffic mods.

Ideally I would love to see a Scania Highline with airkit, Mercedes (old) medium cab, New Mercs, DAF medium, and Scania Normal so that I could add tesco trucks, WS and stobart rail vehicles. But as I said, I am entirely dependant on someone else releasing paintable AI trucks to do that.
